In the 1880s the dutch become concerned about a mysterious disease called Beri-Beri which was claiming thousands of lives every year in JAVA,an island which they ruled.Among the doctors they sent to investigate the disease,was christian Eijkman.

Eijkman could get no clue to the disease for several months.Then one day his chickens suddenly came down with the disease.They would lie on their sides and if he forced them to get up,he was totally confused what happened to the chicken.And he was wondering how they got the disease.

But some days later,what he saw,the chicken who got disease they have recovered and Eijkman was confused how they have recovered very fast and he was wondering what brought about their recovery.

On checking their diet he discovered that his previous cook who had been in charge of feeding the chickens had been pocketing the money given to him to buy chicken feed and had been feeding them polished rice from his kitchen instead.

Their recovery coincided with the arrival of the new cook.This man had started giving them chicken feed again.

The chief ingredient of the chicken feed was unpolished rice.After a series of experiments on the chickens Eijkam discovered that if the birds were fed only polished rice they become sick and that if they were then given unmusked rice,they recovered their healthy.Later he found that what was true for chickens was also true for humans.People suffering from Beri-Beri also recovered if they were put on a diet of brown rice.

Eijkman was never able to identify the mysterious substance.In those days it was thought that all diseases were caused by germs.But Eijkman's discovery made scientists feel that like Beri-Beri there could be other disease caused by lack of certain foods.In 1912 Dr casimir funk said that he thought four disease-Rickets,pellagra,Beri-Beri and scurvy were caused by the body's hunger in very small quantities for some unknown chemicals.

He named these unknown chemicals 'VITAMINES'.Dr Eijkman received the nobal prize for medicine in 1929.

Obviously games need to support this and we had two titles that did--Crysis Warhead and Batman Arkham Asylum.Warhead looks decent but is full of glitches,especially issues with seeing two aiming reticules are unforgivable.Batman works flawlessly with a lettle tuning,however,and the game characters and environs seem to reach out and grab you--super immersive and this was,we have to admit,something that frankly adds a whole new layer to the gaming experience.When more titles support the 3D vision properly,we will heartly recommend it.Till that time,hold your horses.

The New Archos 605 has many features like 4.3-inch touchscreen (800 x 480 pixel resolution),built in speaker and it also has a set of navigation and function keys for volume etc.Transitions are jerky and hearing the soft hum and feeling the vibrations of the HDD can be a little unnerving.This Archos 605 has a Wi-Fi connectivity.Audio quality is good with clear tones and a bass line that won't quit.Plenty of audio settings are provided to help you adjust the sound.

Archos 605 has no FM radio but you can buy a web radio plug-in.Video formats support includes MPEG-4,AVI,FLV and WMV at up to 30 fps.The main problem is that it doesn't have a resume play feature and it doesn't support.TXT nor does it have support for MS document files although it has a PDF reader.Overall its a good Portable media player.

The HTC Magic is slim and light and has a large 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 320 x 480 pixel resolution.It has a trackball for menu navigation.The UI is relatively smooth and quick with just a little lag evident in a few circumstances with a few applications.

The HTC Magic comes with many features,the OS allows for multiple desktops that can be customized with widgets.The lack of an FM radio makes the price unjustifiable.The HTC Magic is a 3G ready handset with support for HSDPA,EDGE and GPRS.Other features like you will get Wi-Fi and very limited bluetooth features.The browser is quick,easy to use and has full HTML support for flash content as well.The HTC Magic sports GPS but without google maps and the Android Market application.In HTC Magic you will get QuickOffice reader with PDF reader and HTC's teeter accelerometer based game.

The HTC Magic has a 3 Megapixel autofocus shooter.Overall camera picture quality is good,according to me 3 megapixel is not a bad camera.Overall HTC magic is a good phone
