GDATA INTERNET SECURITY SUITE 2010

Gdata is the only security distributer that actually integrates two scan engines in one single package. The GData antivirus kit includes the kaspersky antivirus as well as the bitdefender engine, giving the user a double layered protection. While having an extra layer of security is not bad there is a negative aspect that shrouds this dual scan engine technology. The GData security suite consumes over 200 MB of memory when idle and sucks almost every bit of processor power when running a scan. With such high usage you can very well forget about running other tasks when a scan is being reported by AV-Comparatives,the security suite also seems to have gained a high number of false positives that both kaspersky and bitdefender have produced. On the other hand considering that the application runs two scan.

Even though the user has the choice of selecting either one of the two engines, memory usage remains the same.It is recommended as well as detection.

The firewall is decent and automatically selects the best setting for the application that needs access to the internet. With parental control you can set permissions where you can adjust the time frame to access the internet to a perticular user as well as block unwanted sites from being accessed.

GData internet security suite includes a neat set of features but doesn't raise security standards when compared to other suite despite having a dual scan engine.Overall its a good software for a PC.
