WHAT IS CRYPTOGRAPHY?

It secures information by protecting its confidentiality.It can also be use to protect informtion abou the integrity authentication of data.

Example:Checksums are used to varify the integrity of a block of information.A Checksum which is a number calculated from contents of a file,can be ued to determine if the content are correct.An intruder may be able to foray the checksum after modifying the block of the information.Unless the checksum is protects such information might not be detected.
