WHAT IS STRUCTURAL QUERY LANGUAGE (SQL)?

It is simple compared to other programing languages. It was developed in a prototype "system R" by IBM in 1970s ANS adopted SQL as standard language for RDBMS,SQL statement like SELECT can retrive an entire set of rows from the database satisfying a particular condition where as,if the same thing is done using a programming language,a dozen of programming statements are required to be written.

*SOME FEATURES:
1.Simplicity.

2.Completeness.

3.Non Procedurality.

4.Data Independency.

5.Ease of extension.
